The 2014 Porsche Cayman comes with a 275-bhp 2.7-liter water-cooled flat-6 cylinder engine mounted behind the cockpit, and in front of the rear axle. One step higher is the Cayman S, which is powered by a 325-bhp 3.4-liter flat-6. Either engine is available with a 6-speed manual, or optional 7-speed PDK transmission. Believe it or not, the semi-automatic PDK delivers better acceleration and fuel economy figures across the entire Cayman range. While the overall design of the new Cayman is similar to the outgoing model, Porsche has widened the front and rear track, and stretched the wheelbase by approximately 2 inches. This should give the Cayman an even better hold on the road, and strengthen its reputation as one of the world's best handling sports cars. Pricing starts at $53,550 when the next Cayman goes on sale in the spring of next year.
